Short, sourced notes on the questions clients ask us most. Each one ends with the sources it relies on.
- EU AI Act after the Digital Omnibus: what Swiss companies must do, and by when The Digital Omnibus on AI, Regulation (EU) 2026/1744, has been in force since 27 July 2026. It moves the high-risk obligations to 2 December 2027 for Annex III systems and to 2 August 2028 for AI in regulated products, but leaves the prohibitions, the transparency duties and the reach beyond the EU in place. Swiss companies that sell AI into the EU should use the extra time to classify, document and test, not to wait.
- Six reasons HERMES documents fail review, and how to make them audit-ready Most HERMES documents do not fail review because a chapter is missing. They fail because they cannot carry the decision they were written for: the study compares no real options, the concept contradicts the architecture, or the plan has no measurable acceptance. Here are six patterns that come up again and again, what HERMES 2022 actually requires, and practices that get documents through phase releases and audits.
- Buying a Swiss software company: twelve technical questions to answer before you sign About 100,000 Swiss companies were looking for a successor in 2024, and software firms are among the hardest to judge from the outside. These twelve questions cover what a seller's presentation leaves out: who really understands the code, what is out of support, which licences and contracts bind you, and what it costs to fix. Each answer should end up in the price, the purchase agreement or the 100-day plan.
